4 Key Emerging Trends in LMS

Today, after the rapid evolution of the LMS – hastened by several factors, right from the inclusion of social learning tools, to an ever increasing need for usability – many things have changed, and still continue to change, in the LMS. Gone are the days when having your own staff running your own servers behind your own firewall provided a sense of security and control. This trend will benefit not only large companies but even the smallest of the learning organizations.

Like most people who develop and manage training for a living, especially at small to medium sized companies and non profits, I have learned to do a lot of work using free and open source software tools. Moodle - everyone has seen it but the potential for this learning platform is unlimited. Facebook - could be the next thing in learning management and PLE (personal learning environment). Amazon Cloud - create a server and manage applications virtually.
