The backgrounds that I created were done in Photoshop with filters and effects. If Photoshop makes you sweat, then you’ll be happy to know that starting in PowerPoint 2007, there are a number of pretty useful filters you can do to “recolor” your backgrounds and PowerPoint 2010 adds a number of new effects.

She has a site with some free Photoshop Elements tutorials and tips. AlacrityPC : allows you to shut down unnecessary services and programs before you run a resource intensive application. If you doubt me, purchase Adobe Photoshop and see how many plugins are available through 3rd party – which should be a clear sign of the usage. That it is not a good idea to have multiple programs open while you are saving and publishing your video. Plugins can really punch the envelope and people love plugins. The price? $49

Adobe Photoshop is the go-to tool for many artists and designers. Photoshop is a tool for advanced users with a simple interface that new users can easily find tutorials on how to use it. If you can imagine it, it can probably be done in photoshop if you know how. It is essentially a web-based free photoshop alternative.
