Occupying a place on the continuum somewhere between a VLE and a PLE, an ILE is an informal learning environment that a facilitator manages on behalf of a group of learners. Unlike a PLE, an ILE is communal. Forcing someone to register into a course, just to pass a dinky quiz at the end, doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
