The personal learning environment (PLE) is still a bone of contention. Over at the Open University of Catalonia, in Barcelona, Ismael Peña-López has been doing some stirling work on theories surrounding Vygotsky's learning model and PLEs. For me, the PLE is peculiar to the individual who makes it.

I dont see a traditional corporation every truly embracing the theme of PLE -- at least in the pure sense of the term "personal". It just seems like a no-duh.

I'm sure that some employers would prefer to own the blog, i.e., it's a Sun Computer owned blogging system, therefore when you leave Sun you leave your content behind.

I came in two hours early, tested out the system. Eventually, bless 'em, they logged me into a specialised system - known as the access grid - which was open with no networking restrictions.
