Many people don’t consider PowerPoint as a capable graphics editor since its main function is to create presentation aids. Perhaps this is because older versions of PowerPoint (2003 or below) didn’t have as many graphic editing options as never versions (2007 or higher). As you can see in the image below, PowerPoint 2010 has an entire row of options just for editing images. All this editing power would be useless if you couldn’t export your changes out of PowerPoint.

Create custom 3D models for PowerPoint


When Microsoft brought out 3D models support in PowerPoint, we were all a bit excited. There usually comes a point where you want to create your own 3D models in PowerPoint to add that little pinch of excitement to your presentation. The first one is PowerPoint, which you should already have. Open PowerPoint and create a new presentation. Select the destination and save as PNG. Obviously the steps are a bit different and since PowerPoint is not as robust as Illustrator, you have some limitations.       I export my Illustrator graphics as  transparent high-resolution PNG files  for easy import into Microsoft PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, or Adobe Captivate. To create the transparent PNG's, build the graphic on a separate artboard and note the artboard number.     Next, choose  File > Export , select the appropriate artboard, and then select  PNG  as the output.
