I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. Assessment/Survey/Polls – If your product doesn’t have it – you need it. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Jump on the Bandwagon. Super slow.

The same can be said for survey tools. They equally match the survey tools, and for some systems their survey tool is better. The only real gain for survey tools – specifically polling – is the mobile real time polling option, but even then, it is starting to slide into some learning platforms.

In Brandon Hall’s research, haven’t talked to a single LMS vendor who is NOT adding these tools. Used Ektron ( www.methodfactory.com ) a content management system – which allowed search, tagging, RSS, links, blogs, polls, surveys. Polls, blogs, search (similar to chrysler). Good for external training, partners, vendors.
