Why Visual Design IS NOT Graphic Design

Web Courseworks

Visual design allows for better learning transfer, meaning visual guides and slide design help the learner focus on what is most important in a course. This week, we spoke to Connie Malamed from eLearning Coach on her upcoming webinar for our Fall Webinar Series on October 25 at 12PM CT.

And that’s increasingly true: with tools to do narrated slides, screencasts, and videos in the hands of everyone, there’s little need to have the same old ordinary courses coming from L&D. People can create or access portals to share created and curated resources, and social networks to interact with one another. Is there an appetite for change in L&D? That was the conversation I’ve had with colleagues lately. And I have to say that that the answer is mixed, at best.

Pausing Timeline and Audio clips

Adobe Captivate

Give feedback to the portal developers (maybe also to me?). The way different types of audio react to an absolute Pause of the timeline, and to a Pausing point (slide related or related to an interactive object) is probably the most difficult to understand. Slide audio : is synchronized with the slide timeline (which is the reason why the CC feature only works for slide audio).

Adobe Captivate: Troubleshooting LMS Woes

The Logical Blog by IconLogic

First, I had her create a new project that only contained a few slides. Then Ask your LMS vendor if they have a test portal. A slide is only considered "Complete" if it runs to its timed end. If a user jumps from a slide using the playbar or a button/clickbox, the slide may not be considered Complete. If you have branching, you may skip slides and thus not 'complete' the whole lesson. by Lori Smith.
