The idea that you are going to require staff to carryout major changes to their existing materials is always likely to induce an expected and to be frank understandable level of reticence, however by using Wimba Create , which will convert materials produced in MS Word into Scorm compliant packages, can pretty much neutralise that.

For my own part in the day I brought along the work that I had been conducting on eLearning, much publicised on this blog, but I did take the opportunity to promote Wimba Create, which I think went down very positively. Thetemplate is based on the original work of Mikko Rusama. The format used here is Moodle XML.

The same is true of Adobe Connect, Horizon Wimba and other 2D classroom software. If there is not a compelling reason to be in the virtual world, people will not go to the virtual world that is not a "problem" it is a fact of human motivation. The problem is not confined to virtual worlds.

Are they familiar with the problem the product addresses or the opportunity to which it responds? Use the data within to reveal needs, problems and opportunities. Actuals : What do they currently know and do? What are they selling? What is already known by the sales force? Are they familiar with a similar product? New Analysis.

I attended a very useful online presentation last week by Mike Orey of the University of Georgia (via the Wimba Distinguished Lecture Series ). It has some interesting sections on topics such as Motivation, Adult Learning, Problem-based Instruction and Learning Communities as an Instructional Model. Have a look it.

As aforementioned one company called Wimba already has audio – voice capabilities within their social learning product, so that learners can say their comments on a discussion board and other learners can hear the voice comments rather than read them. The problem thus lies in being behind the curve.
