If you need to simply trim some fat from a video you can easily get away with using ‘free’ tools, like Quicktime or Movie Maker. Any music added should suit the tone of the video, so it doesn’t distract the viewer from the video itself.

Authoring Tool Market – What I am seeing

Adding video via YouTube or mp4 or Quicktime or whatever has been in place for a long time. Image editing – several vendors are offering this – I expect more to follow suit – but not huge numbers by the end of 2013. I expect to see this to be another growth feature. Video recording, web cam recording.
