The short story is within my first 5 minutes of exploring an island I was called a "bitch" and this guy was claiming to own "this world" and wanted me to pay him to get off the island. They were coming at me in the chat, then IM, and when they started coming into my email I quit the program.

Researchers from the University of California-Davis Health System re-created a 3-D model of the California Exposition and State Fair in Second Life and conducted the training within that environment. Here are some interesting examples of using virtual worlds for learning, manufacturing and business: In the manufacturing arena, the level of complexity of today’s assembly lines cannot be accomplished with two-dimensional visualization. A few trends: Not ONE person has even heard of Second Life. This was a little wake up call to me as I sit in my little e-Learning world, trying to immerse myself in all that is new. The rest of the world is not in this technology bubble yet. I just dont think that Second Life is it.
