Courseware LMSs – Good or bad for the industry?

Maybe you purchased it via Open Sesame, or Skillsoft. Maybe you scored it via Wiley, but in many possibilities you purchased the content thru your LMS vendor. Skillsoft – The behemoth of the courses/content space. Skillsoft I find is very flexible in this regard (as a whole). Course rating: B+. Course rating: B.

Some may be free (TED) or some MOOCs, others are fee-based (Skillsoft, Skill Pill, Harvard Business, etc.). . Then: Quality was mixed. Skillsoft too. Skillsoft – B2B, partnerships. You (client) go thru and look at the content providers whom the LMS, LEP, etc. has as partners and select the content. Static rules!

Skillsoft debuted a new LMS, but I would say it is a major work in progress. Vendors who scored well in my book. Before angling towards Lynda.com or Skillsoft, I’d search them out. A huge value win for me is that they “cull” their courses, which means they get rid of the dated, poor quality courses. .
