As the industry is adapting to a new breed of learning tools, including Chatbots, Virtual Reality and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), a lot of focus is still on the functionality that these new tools bring, such as in a recent LXP RFP I’ve seen. This may well be using the same tips and tricks we’ve done previously, such as linear online courses or synchronized learning (be it face to face or online) as each of these have their own place and time where they are beneficial.

If there’s a synchronous cohort, do group assignments. These work better asynchronously, of course, but they can be leveraged synchronously. And blended can mean mixing up asynchronous with synchronous activity.

Both can be delivered online and can even be recorded, however, synchronous learning is often delivered live and in-person. Neo LMS allows true asynchronous based learning (self pace, non-linear) on top of the standard synchronous based seen throughout education. One vendor showed me a RFP form a large metropolitan school district that was 25 pages long, had lots of text on one side with comments and questions. Another vendor showed me a school district whose RFP was 36 pages in length. Back in the 90’s I taught high school and loved it.
