I have known SumTotal for a long time, and I can say, that this latest version of the product is by far the best version. Unicorn LMS, Workday Learning, Degreed, Saba, Torch LMS, Learn Amp. Saba’s machine learning is fantastic, but they haven’t really pushed the envelope beyond that powerhouse of a component.

I admit I was surprised that Cornerstone Learning Suite, Saba, Blackboard, Bridge, SuccessFactors, Linkedin Learning and even Docebo did not. Saba the same thing. Schoolguru (corporate version). Other top support card respondents included ePath Learning, Upside LMS, Digits Glo, MATRIX, and G-Cube. Who Didn’t. Spoke (Yes).

I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). However, I will say this: I like what Saba is doing. The system still – equally as Saba – needs some work.

I removed any vendor built 100% on free open source or open source whereas it is always 100% customized so that one could build a mega monster or build a 1995 version. For folks who think I ignore the big dog vendors, sorry to disappoint, but Saba, SumTotal Learn and Cornerstone Learning Suite are in the Top 50. So, hence the five.

What you get is the “smartphone&# version, which really fails to offer the power of tablets and those capabilities. Cornerstone continues to improve with each new release and depending on what they extract from Saba, could really shake things up a bit. . No, it is not learning software. The Sierra Titles of the 90s and early 2000s, were learning software offerings.

I wouldn’t touch the Saba solution, which has another alphabetical salad of letters, because CBX is significantly better. BrainCert (This is for the Elite version) – $ – There is a lot to enjoy, but the metrics/analytics is average – so that needs major movement. Career mapping is another add-on.

I didn’t get to see the mobile piece, but I surmise it will be similar in many ways to MCs version which was always slick. Thus, you have a version for a smartphone and another for a tablet. I would add that it definitely has a feel for the MediaCore VLP (Video Learning Platform) that Workday bought earlier this year.

Choose quickly between a simple streamlined version and their advanced – IMO, I would use their advanced. Cannot skin on the SaaS version and even if you host it on your own servers you have to do it via CSS code (this is not uncommon in the VLP market, but it still is a minus in book). Q: Saba, SumTotal, Cornerstone, Taleo, SuccessFactors must be the best because a lot of people buy these systems. Do not assume that your vendor or potential vendor will work with an earlier version of Flash, Windows or even IE. . There are some systems that will not work with older versions of Flash. They actually have two learning management systems, but for whatever reason, they are pitching their SharePoint version. While I place Saba in the average spot, I do think Learning@Work is heading in the right direction (cloud based platform). . If you go the primary route, courses #1, LMS included, then any market will work.

Download the PDF version of the T-Grid. . The biggest surprise to me is Saba. Again, this is in reference to the learning portion of Saba and not the entire platform of talent, etc. Saba is the unknown here, because of their previous track record. What I consider Tier 3 NexGen which uh, played the key role here.
