The format of my screencasts vary slightly based on how I feel I can convey each individual math standard. Vocabulary terms are also scattered among my screencasts. I also write the complete URL of the pertinent videos directly onto paper homework assignments.

There are a couple elements that can make screencasts interesting and engaging. Motion from drawing on the screen with something like a Tablet PC or Wacom tablet make a screencast dynamic and can focus viewers attention. And, the Picture-In-Picture (PIP) option in Camtasia makes screencasts lively and shows off the presenter's personality. Some researchers at Microsoft have done something really creative for their screencasts using PIP! Great use of technology!

We left the guidelines very open, with the stipulation that there had to be a technological component. We had students create presentations, videos, Glogs, prezi’s, blogs, and live demonstrations. We had students write about the mathematics. Without going too far into how we built each unit I’ll try to highlight how we collaborated and the different technologies that helped us.
