For more complex visuals or animation, like simulating text messages , I use Storyline. It’s much smarter to build in Storyline for this version.

I am working on a new software simulation. I have done over twenty of these in an older version of Captivate with no issues. Just received a new computer with the updated version of captivate and for some reason the simulation only shows the first and last slide i do with nothing in the middle.

Adobe took over Captivate around version 3 or 4 (I cannot recall which one exactly). I spent hours on the phone with their support because of technical glitches up to version 6. What I loved were the software simulations that I could create and how impressive (and useful) they were for clients. Nothing changed.

If you use Twine as a prototyping tool, you can build the finished version in Captivate, Storyline, or another tool of your choice. You can use Twine as the finished product though, especially if you do some formatting to make it look better. This is pretty rough (just text on a white background), but that’s OK for a prototype.
