1,000 is the magic number for a lot of vendors. There are vendors that unless you have a minimum of 1,000 end-users (regardless if they are employees, customers, etc.) I know of vendors who will go below 1,000, but their “sweet spot”, the number they really would prefer is a minimum of 1,000. Is 500 to 999 an option?

This is because many vendors behind the scenes use “range pricing,” and the ranges often end at 2,500, before moving up to the following range. This is not universal, and there are vendors who will get a better deal if you swing up to 3,000 – and your actual user base is 2,600 or 2,200, for example. Think about that.

With folks being out of the office in droves, this in turn led to, an overall slow sales cycle for a large percentage of vendors in the learning system space. Back in the mid 2000’s and then again, around 2010-12, the summer was a dead zone for vendors. When targets are missed, well, that is not good news for a vendor.

What I really like is that they aren’t trying to be focused solely on the large enterprise space, which too many vendors across the industry see as the “mighty” Rather small biz (5-500), small enterprise (501-999), Enterprise (1,000-10,000) are their strong spots. .
