Twitter is Much Better than I Thought for Learning I used to say during presentations that I wasn’t quite sure about twitter as a learning tool. I’ve had to find ways to filter the flow and figure out when/how to reach out. I’m looking forward to doing more of this going forward.

Social Learning Objects - Flash Cards

Tony Karrer

It's well designed and very easy to use. It also does some interesting things: Allows users to categorize flash cards, mark them as being associated with particular text books, and then helps with the sharing of content. They have automated definitions and translation to make it easy to create language flash cards. For spelling, you can enter the word and the system has text-to-speech to create a sound that is the prompt that you then have to spell.

Your end users make up that mass, and a statement I hear often is that people aren’t staying in the systems to fully benefit from it. The growing number of businesses leaving Microsoft Outlook to Internet e-mail is amazing. While there are a couple of vendors out there who have incorporated e-mail that can go to outside to people, rather than just within the learning management product, the overall space isn’t doing it. It is time to remove the blinders.

Bridging the Digital Divide: Promoting Inclusive Content Interfaces

Magic EdTech

As of 2015, 27% of adults with disabilities had never accessed the internet as opposed to 11% of non-disabled adults. This is despite the fact that the UN Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities recognizes the access to information and communications technologies, including the internet, as a fundamental human right. Digital exclusion doesn’t just exacerbate issues like social exclusion while spurring economic disadvantage.

Accessibility Awareness Begins at Home

Magic EdTech

Yes, a single individual can make a huge difference to the world. Today, GAAD is in its seventh year and has become a keystone event in an effort to create digital accessibility and inclusion.
