Online Coach Training from United States Youth Futsal

Impossible is not in our vocabulary

Creating online training for specialty industries is what CD2 Learning is known for. This client showcase is a collaborative effort conceived several years ago but launched at the time it was needed most – during the pandemic.

Challenge

Brian Catrine, the Executive Director of United States Youth Futsal, knew United States Youth Futsal (USYF) needed a Coaching Education Program. USYF is committed to growing the game. To achieve this, they planned to identify players without access to futsal, and along with players, the potential coaches who could be trained to coach the game.

USYF had a wealth of great knowledge and resources, but no technology or method of delivery.

Solution

USYF partnered with CD2 Learning, technology company with a shared love of soccer and futsal. USYF had the subject experts and focused on what a grass roots coach would need, and then coaches at various levels of learning.

CD2 Learning’s platform took that information, broke it into engaging segments that would appeal to different styles of learning. Bite-sized chunks of information made mastery of content more successful. The platform is available to a global audience.

The level one course was designed for first time coaches and for converting current soccer coaches to futsal coaches. It takes roughly one and a half hours to complete. Learners can start and stop the course and have access to go back and revisit content as needed. The courses include detailed descriptions, interactive content, videos, and demonstrations from proven futsal professionals.  Level two has also launched and online referee courses are coming next.

Results

The result is a world class online program featuring extensive content, instructional videos on playing and drills, and tips from professional coaches. This was proven by the extremely high percentage of learners who started and finished the program. (Including global users from Brazil, Lebanon, Ireland and more.)  Following this success, Level II was launched at the end of 2020.
