1. One could reasonably say this to a thug, or a child molester. I think Ayn Rand once said something to the effect that the maxim, ‘moderation in all things,’ which at first glance seems reasonable, ought not to be applied to the idea of taking poison.

2. Ah yes, perspective is everything, and in this case mine was much more mainstream!

   I think it was Mithridates who consumed tiny amounts of poison daily in an effort to make himself immune. Interesting perspective :0)
