When I used Captivate previously (a couple of years ago), I noticed that my projects saved automatically as pdf’s, however, this doesn’t seem to happen with 2019. Is there a solution to this? Many thanks.

Many thanks – I was afraid that might be the case.

Not much hope that a HTML alternative will appear.

Indeed, a couple of years ago Adobe Reader always had the Flash Player plugin installed. However since EOL of Flash Player has been announced, that is no longer the case. You can still include a pdf when publishing to SWF (not to HTML) but with that problem that the learner needs to install the Flash Player plugin for Adobe Reader. Have no idea how long this still will be possible after Flash player has been taken out of all web browsers.
