LMSs/LCMS/CMS/learning platforms in commercial and open space continued their presence. HTML5 support – sorry Flash fans . no SCORM, AICC or PENS – however, I am now seeing a few vendors offer PENS (created by AICC back in 2005, but slowly gaining traction). Claro enables true HTML5 output.

The first official eLearning content standard, AICC was developed by the Aviation Industry CBT Committee in 1993 as a CD-ROM based standard. A predecessor to SCORM, AICC was difficult to work with and many steps were required to get content in the format running in a learning management system (LMS). Gamification. Interoperability.
