You recorded the screen, could change the screen size – as in full capture, a part, window, etc. Flash vs. HTML5. I am seeing many vendors still offering the ability to output screen recording and video to flash. Those who do offer both Flash and HTML5 are missing a simple and essential item to their arsenal.

Despite the overwhelmingly number of vendors who have a “desktop only&# solution, based on what I am seeing- a result of new feature sets – this will change. While there are SaaS tools that do not yet offer this feature, it will change. Remember when only a few offered the PPT to Flash option in their tools?

But, the reason I constantly bash this into e-learning vendors heads is this just DON’T GET IT. Yet, a majority of vendors in the e-learning space as a whole, are just not doing it. HTML5 will be available on every one of those tablets, plus they will offer Flash (notable exception the iPad).

The note of interest is that it is occurring with all size of vendors, albeit the charge is being led by mid size vendors. Not all of the big dog vendors have entered this space, despite it being a huge revenue opportunity. That is expected to change. Plus, a client will often seek data that info.,

In 2010, the RCAT market continued its upswing and nothing indicates to me it will be changing anytime soon. Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine.
