Remember Lotus 1-2-3? For those of us, who experienced the late 80s when Floppy Discs ruled, and then used Lotus in the 90’s, the memory of such a solution, is easily forgotten (although I did take an online course using only Lotus Notes, in 1998). I would love to know who is still using Lotus Notes 6.5.

Sure you can watch a video on Salesforce CRM or Lotus 1-2-3, but people learn best when the content is interactive and mimics the product. A well-rounded employee is far better than an employee whose only knowledge is tied to their job role and nothing more. Where is the content that trains people on technical skill sets? Now, they do.

The point of it all (there isn’t one, but roll with it) is that finding the right person for the right role isn’t as easy as you might think. Take the LMS, learning system administrator role. I often hear from readers who tell me how difficult it is to find such a person, i.e. the right person for the role.

Courses are typically called online classes, or referred to as classes. Chat room(s) – often a main one, and then some have group ones – groups play a big role in SBL. Some have file repositories – area to access materials, additional reference area, etc. Rarely used in corporate. Typical Setup.

The survey asks demographic and company questions of all the participants so that you know things like the industry, size of company, number of learners, their role, etc. Sometimes it's how they were referred to by the survey respondents and it hasn't been cleaned up in the data.
