Application Training Programs: What's the Big Deal?

Currently, I am in the middle of creating a simulation-based training program for certain applications for a well-known organization. Based on this user feedback, the modules and program can be revised. A badly designed training program is as likely to wreak havoc as zero training.

Of course, all authoring tools have always described themselves as quick and easy to use, with absolutely no programming required, but of course we know otherwise. Tools for creating interactive tutorials (the bulk) as opposed to those that specialise in producing assessments ( QuestionMark ), 3D games (Caspian's Thinking Worlds ), software simulations (Captivate, Qarbon ViewletBuilder , Camtasia ) and scenarios ( RapideL Discover , Captivate).
