Only files saved as PNG or JPG have options for adjusting color saturation from within PowerPoint. From the Picture Tools Format tab, choose Adjust > Color and adjust the saturation level. As you can see in the image below, PowerPoint 2010 has an entire row of options just for editing images. This can be accessed any time an image is selected under the “Picture Tool Format” tab on the Ribbon. Background removal (2010). Fortunately, you can also save an image in several different image formats.

This tutorial does not give step-by-step instructions on using each of the effects in PowerPoint 2007 / 2010. In PowerPoint 2007 / 2010, choose Insert > Image > Clipart option to search for and choose a background image to add to a plain white slide. Double-click the background image to open the Format tab.

Use the format painter to fill the shape with the same gray gradient as the top and change the angle of the gradient to straight down so the dark is on the bottom. Create a small pill-shaped rounded rectangle and use the format painter to fill it with the same as the keyboard section. I saved it as a PNG.

PowerPoint 2010 comes with a background removal feature which makes it really easy. Right click on it and you’ll see the format shape option. In PowerPoint 2010, you can combine shapes to create custom shapes. PowerPoint 2010 makes cropping that much easier because it acts more like an image mask than just a cropping feature.
