Only files saved as PNG or JPG have options for adjusting color saturation from within PowerPoint. To change this, click the Save as Type drop-down menu and select either JPG or PNG. As you can see in the image below, PowerPoint 2010 has an entire row of options just for editing images. Background removal (2010). It’s even possible to save as a PNG with a transparent background. However, newer versions add more abilities and previously hard-to-find options are more prominent. Crop to shape.

This tutorial does not give step-by-step instructions on using each of the effects in PowerPoint 2007 / 2010. In PowerPoint 2007 / 2010, choose Insert > Image > Clipart option to search for and choose a background image to add to a plain white slide. Save the image as a PNG file. I combined shapes in PowerPoint 2010 to cut a hole in the lid and make it transparent. I saved it as a PNG. Bonus tip: If you want to add pictures or videos over the laptop image, then it’s probably a good idea to just fill the inside with black and square off the corners since the videos won’t have rounded corners.
