While working on rapid authored courses (courses authored using rapid authoring tools), I often encounter the decision point of whether to use freeform rapid authoring tools or the traditional template-based tools. First, let’s look at template-based tools. Udutu is one of such tool which uses templates for authoring.

We can't jump on the first release of Flash 10 or ActionScript 3 to take advantage of the new features and leave or users behind who require minimum support for Flash 8. Just because Articulate is easy to use and creates cool eLearning projects, doesn't mean we should use it to do a true to life software simulation.
