The previous term that was widely used was CBT, Computer-Based-Training, which was taking a course on your computer via a CD-Rom, and later by some with a DVD-ROM. And knowledge of any ADDIE or another modalities, not needed. . WBT by the way was the term used for e-learning, as in Web-Based-Training. Absolutely.

Some people might convert their PPT to a video (it can be done) OR they have that production facility and shoot their own high quality videos OR they purchase 3rd party content video courses. CD-ROM and in some cases, DVD built courses. . ADDIE - Should be punted into outer space. WBT - Web based training.
