As the rapid content authoring market continues to grow, new features and capabilities are equally growing. There are 124 authoring tools in my latest directory, of which 30 are SaaS or a combination of desktop and SaaS – which really what is the point of that? SaaS: Software is in the cloud, on the internet.

IMO this is not an authoring tool, although I’m sure you can spin it that way if you want to. How about – Litmos actually skinning the product themselves – as the majority of vendors do – at no additional charge or more simple click customization options. KICK THE FIELD GOAL – IT’S GOOD!

The first time I have had fun creating courses via a course authoring tool in 15 years. Layers and Conditions – if you have experience with Photoshop or similar products that use layers, then your learning curve is less. Learn more – great idea, but they failed at this too (more in a sec).

Spelling – I am always surprised at the number of authoring tools who do not have this feature. Unless you have used a product like Photoshop or other programs that have layers, etc. Easy to move images right into the blocks on the templates. Right click capability. Of course not, but now I am.
