Remember Lotus 1-2-3? For those of us, who experienced the late 80s when Floppy Discs ruled, and then used Lotus in the 90’s, the memory of such a solution, is easily forgotten (although I did take an online course using only Lotus Notes, in 1998). I would love to know who is still using Lotus Notes 6.5.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Other options were universities who went online, via Lotus Notes. WBT (Web-Based Training).

An LMS can be as good or as bad as a learning platform, a PXP, LXP, skills-focused, or whatever someone wants to call their learning system. For a system and a company worth an estimated 1B dollars, the UX for metrics should be impressive borderline unbelievable. I have always disagreed with that premise. Content Studio.

You can build your own via a 3rd party authoring tool. And not only do they provide the “course marketplace or content marketplace”, but they are adding content for free, to when you buy the LMS or other type of learning system. LMS vendor identifies possible options. Then and Now.
