He is the author of seven book including a best-seller on creating effective e-learning and in has received ASTD’s Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award in 2011. If ADDIE produces the products you want, does so comfortably, and works effectively with the constraints you work with, I’d stick with ADDIE.

Anyone who used Authorware can attest to that. When a vendor uses slides as part of their course design approach they are doing you and the person building the course (if not one and the same) a major disservice and fueling the misunderstanding about effective course design.
