The alliance looks seriously large now especially with Google and Microsoft recently becoming part of it. Opera has released a HTML 5 version (Opera mobile) for Windows Mobile. Also there are strong reasons for HTML 5 not being able to replace Flash as pointed out by a former Macromedia person Jeremy Allaire in this article.

Elearning development tools: only Adobe? Over the last ten years or so, major elearning developers have preferred to use tools like Flash, Authorware and Director from Adobe (earlier Macromedia). While creating any eLearning content, there is a mix of people with different skill sets working on same project.
