Lots of ILT vendors – again, the show has always been geared towards this, so no surprise, in fact, ATD formally known as ASTD has always been heavy on ILT and book things, and just in the last few years has seen a major increase in e-learning vendors, with the past show being nearly 50% – the highest ever.

Right now, you have to upload the course as you would with your SCORM wrapper, where you self-upload or use the course within an online mobile platform from your authoring tool vendor. Just as you can with PENS authoring tools and the systems that support PENS (i.e Digital Textbooks. Digital signature a must.

A huge key is digital marketing. Expect a large swath of vendors to move into a SaaS only product. no SCORM, AICC or PENS – however, I am now seeing a few vendors offer PENS (created by AICC back in 2005, but slowly gaining traction). Multilingual is a must here. Non compliant – i.e Peer review.

E-mail notification – becoming very common. Most tend to be proprietary, but I have seen a few that are SCORM/AICC and yes even PENS. After creating the courses they stay within the system, they cannot be outputted into a learning platform or system (standard, but guess what? Include some very basic analytical data.
