Why are people using such products as Google docs? Web conferencing vendors can establish themselves to expand beyond the meeting standard. Feature set is rich – think of the possibilities, even with a learning management or learning portal system. What makes Dropbox so effective?

Here is just a few of ones I like, that are unique and you could use in your LMS/LCMS/CMS, Learning Portal (caveat: your vendor must be able to accept APIs, otherwise it won’t work). Again, either incorporate into your LMS/LCMS/CMS or your learning portal. Uses Google Docs. Social Learning?

Majority of employees access a LMS or Learning Portal out of the workplace. Now, why doesn’t a vendor mention this information to a potential client, at least the first point – I can understand holding off on the second point, for selling purposes. E-Learning 24/7. Yes, I love consumer slate tablets.

You could count on your hand the number of vendors even looking at it, and I’m not just talking LMSs/Learning Portals, but content authoring tools and other products. I recall speaking in November on a webinar panel and being somewhat chided over the fact that I kept repeating the importance of mobile learning and tablets.
