What always stuns me are vendors who state they know what their learners want, but in reality have no clue, because they themselves do not see the technology and its usage among the masses. In the iPad, there are quite a few products – other apps – that include Dropbox. What makes Dropbox so effective? Why would I want it?

What is of note, is that this is not new in terms of systems being offered “in the cloud” This was happening back when e-learning began, with quite a few systems in the cloud by 2002. Systems that are only available as hosted on your own servers are starting to significantly decline. Prediction. Extended Enterprise.

The people who suffer the most from this contradiction are the consumers and a vast majority of vendors. While mobile learning is moving at an incredible speed, faster than anticipated by some of my colleagues, it does not come without a cost. Your mobile web browser. HTML5 or is it? You can’t live without it – but unless you want to be able to only see your courses on tablets that only support flash (and they all also support HTML5) or have zero desire to see your courses on the iPads (which support only HTML5), you will need to face reality. E-Learning in General. with TinCan). What is TinCan?

Support of the iPad, thus mobile learning. Mobile – including on the iPad, including their grade book, which they call SpeedGrader. No online/offline synchronization which is bizarre since education is going the way of tablets – including iPad rather than purchasing laptops and desktops.
