Last week, while justifying Apple’s refusal to allow Flash player on iPhone/iPad, Steve Jobs wrote– “ New open standards created in the mobile era, such as HTML5, will win on mobile devices (and PCs too) ”. Adobe, recently announced moving their open-source development to Sourceforge. Looks like a desire to speed up their open-source development around the Flash platform. The new portal called Open@Adobe will hold Adobe’s open source projects in coming days.

Smokescreen project is an effort to bring Flash player to the iPhone/iPad without installing the Flash plug-in. It’s an open source project implemented in HTML5 and JavaScript. For now this project is targeted at advertisers to enable them to run Flash ads on the iPhone/iPad.
