I agree the technologies to create, deploy and manage HTML5-based mobile web apps will greatly improve in 2012 but I don't feel they will mature to the point they can replace all native apps – at least in most of the primary enterprise use cases for learning that’s managed and tracked. The Reason: MOOCs are still an excellent low-cost tool to partially move courses from offline to online. Not taking away the credit they deserve, I would say MOOCs, at the same time, are not the perfect way to solve the problems that lead to a low level of student engagement. These numbers are a testimony to my belief system.
