Recently, I’ve been exploring collaborative web-based options for a report I’m writing and was reintroduced to MyUdutu (from Udutu). I spent an hour or so with Roger from Udutu looking at their authoring tool and have to say I’m really kind of blown away as to its capabilities. Seriously.).

Moodle – Yes, it is free – but that is before you need to host it, or resources to build it, and support when your end-users need help, or someone who can maintain and update it – they aren’t free. Udutu LMS – Their price point is fair value – actually it is very inexpensive. Borderline.

Cloud-based authoring tools, like Claro and Udutu, have lower learning curves, thereby allowing new users to work on content creation instantly.
