Online learning – which EdTech refers to as remote learning (I guess remote viewing was unavailable because the CIA tried it during the Cold War). Many “experts, including some analysts,” use learning systems to refer to all learning systems except an LMS. Thus, This makes no sense to me.

Machine Learning was well-known (it’s another form of AI), so the idea that generative AI, in this case, ChatGPT would take off (even though Gen AI was already out there), definitely a surprise. The moment I saw it, I was “this is a winner,” – which is why it was named the number one Learning Tech solution for 2023.

Getting back to being unaware, I find the same issue with a few vendors in the learning system space who are really LXPs, but have no idea. Content Providers and other learning systems are not familiar with the LXP size, revenue potential or growth potential. Here are the standards for machine learning in an LXP.

I’d rather see YourbusinessU then our name learning system. A benefit of giving it a name, is that you will use this name in meetings, with learners and with promoting/marketing your system, whether it is internal or external or both. Propaganda techniques (which are used everyday in advertising), work really well.
