Remember Lotus 1-2-3? For those of us, who experienced the late 80s when Floppy Discs ruled, and then used Lotus in the 90’s, the memory of such a solution, is easily forgotten (although I did take an online course using only Lotus Notes, in 1998). I would love to know who is still using Lotus Notes 6.5.

Sure you can watch a video on Salesforce CRM or Lotus 1-2-3, but people learn best when the content is interactive and mimics the product. I can count on my fingers how many content vendors offer courses to teach folks a foreign language. will replace either the job, the person’s job role or the person’s responsibilities.

The point of it all (there isn’t one, but roll with it) is that finding the right person for the right role isn’t as easy as you might think. Take the LMS, learning system administrator role. I often hear from readers who tell me how difficult it is to find such a person, i.e. the right person for the role.

Thus, if the learner is zinging around and looking at dozens and dozens of courses specific to their title or job role, they would hopefully find a course or content they like, save it, and then be able to go back to it. I have to admit, I have not heard an LMS, learning platform vendor say this since, uh, never (ok, since 1998).

The survey asks demographic and company questions of all the participants so that you know things like the industry, size of company, number of learners, their role, etc. Several of the LMS vendors appear more than once, such as Oracle. They can be used to see how LMS vendors stack up against particular features. Oracle 2 6.15
