Let’s face it – RFI/RFP documents sent over to learning system vendors are massive tomes that confuse, challenge and even baffle some vendors. Then you have RFP/RFIs that lack substance. The fact of the matter is nobody loves creating RFP/RFIs. They can be 25 pages. 50 pages, even 100 pages or more.

Check references. Not many frustrated buyers there. what learners are used to). eCommerce capabilities. Go with a hosted system.

I’ve been there – well, not hating it – I always thought it was the way to go (even in 2000). If you run into issues, do you have someone that can fix it? There are other systems who despite their claims of browser agnostic, have issues with Chrome for example. . I hear you. I understand. Bottom Line.

If you like, then RFP it. Not It starts right there, even before the bugs/issues, support failures and so on. And Way better than what comes with the system, and the one that truly tells you – the learning and training story – or as I refer to it as learning intelligence.  Not the other way around.  The downer?

There are learning system vendors out there who push the term “traditional” to refer to an LMS, even though there is nothing that validates that. The newer term is customer education (refers to customers, clients, partners, B2B/B2C). I should note that every LXP can do compliance, assigned and formal learning.
