The first version was introduced in January 2001. The second version was introduced in October 2001 and is still the most widely used today. The most recent edition is SCORM 2004 (4 th edition), which was introduced in March 2009. Content must be packaged into a self-contained directory or archive file format known as a ZIP.

AICC was, indeed, the first official eLearning content standard. In 2001, Version 1.2 What is SCORM? Isn’t that memorable?!
