the Mac versions of PowerPoint can't embed fonts, nor can they use fonts embedded in a PC-born presentation. If you are using PowerPoint 2010, choose  File > Save As. Keep in mind that embedding fonts will increase the file size of your presentation, especially if you embed all of the font's characters.

I’ve removed the custom font in my version of the corporate template and replaced it with the Calibri font, which is standard across most computers running MS Office and a little more interesting than Arial or Times New Roman (ok, only slightly). Here's two versions of a Jing logo from one of our press releases. The image on the right is less than 1/2 the size of the original image on the left. Optimizing the PNG's in the Camtasia Relay PC recorder resulted in a ~7% (302KB) file-size reduction. But know that file size isn't the only thing affected.
