In fact, recent surveys are showing that college students prefer SMS over e-mail notifications. Can add Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ : interesting about Linkedin – it is not that widely used by college students. Here are #25 to #11 for 2012. E-Learning 24/7. User interface is excellent.

On the vendor side, nice set to select from although on the freebie side – always is lame. Vendor Angle. A must for any e-learning vendor. That said, vendors have found the show overall to be a mixed bag. HR technology is coming into play more than before on the e-learning side.

I’m not saying that e-learning vendors who follow the “trial” and give us your credit card mantra are following this approach nor are they doing so in a nefarious way, I’m just giving you some insight in how companies that use this approach, see value in it.

Early Signs for 2012. This will become one of the biggest features in 2012 – especially with people wanting to create simulations without being an e-learning developer. By the end of 2012, I’m forecasting that SaaS will finally overtake Desktop – but it won’t be by much. Smart, very smart.

E-Commerce. Customized skinning – albeit in today’s market there are some vendors who charge for skins – disgusting! Modules in 2012. Excluding the above, there are vendors out there who charge extra for. Social learning – in many cases it is a more robust than your standard chat, discussion, etc.
