Whether you want to call them human image characters, avatars or actors, they are going to be the new “hot” in 2013. In 2012 it has been all about collaborative/peer review with authoring products, and it still will be in 2013, but the avatars/actors with/without backgrounds are going to be in “fuego” Where can it go?

On the vendor side, nice set to select from although on the freebie side – always is lame. Vendor Angle. A must for any e-learning vendor. That said, vendors have found the show overall to be a mixed bag. The key: 24/7 support. . Vendor Angle. Not a lot of vendors here.

Every E-Learning vendor should want your business and treat you as they would want to be treated. Every LMS vendor should have a standard regarding response times, when they receive an inquiry via the internet. I know of one vendor who responds within 30 minutes of receiving an inquiry. E-Learning 24/7.

It’s one big drawback – no support for SCORM, but hey, since it is ideal for sticking in to your course, rather than as a standalone authoring tool, it works. Please note they do not yet support HTML5, but again with MP4 no worries – it can be seen on any tablet, including iPad. SaaS product and streaming included.

Learning Management Systems. Built-in help desk – It is on the rise and I expect it to continue into 2013. Benefit: Reduces calls to administrator and training/learning person who oversees the system and department. Reduces costs to vendor, which is big because everyone knows that support inc. Bottom Line.

billion (Walmart, end of fiscal year ending in January 2013). I loved the term that vendors started to push in 2012 and continue to do so in 2013 – “scalability” It makes me laugh. M-Learning – native app, online/offline synchronization – supports HTML5. E-Learning 24/7.
