A study conducted in Q2 2010 found that 60% of people stop using Twitter in the first month after signing up. One other interesting note, I have yet to see a LMS/LCMS that incorporates social bookmarking in their product. LMS/LCMS – 20%. Learning Portal 16%. M-Learning Tool – 9%. Guess what?

The LMS/LCMS/Learning Portal market continues to be strong. In my latest directory, 393 LMS vendors – global, of which 34 or so are open source systems. Another study reported that most Facebook users, are lurkers – read, but do not post. It was a myth. Surprising in that it took this long.

I suppose most LMS/LCMS keep track of versions on some levels. (Is In the Learning Portals that we create for our clients, we need to think about how we can ensure that updates are effectively tracked and recorded and that old versions of courses are properly archived. Is that true?)

After all, if you can create a couple of APIs that provide strong social learning functionality, and the LMS vendor offers an add-on for social learning, do they really want you to put yours in? The spin of course, is that open source systems enable APIs. Adobe Learning Suite only works on 32 bit computers.
