PowerPoint is for Presentations, not for creating an e-learning course or as part of your course development. Many of the modern authoring tools offer the ability for the course builder to still use “PowerPoint for the course design/development if that person so wants to.

Beginners – zero tech skills to advanced – with tech skills – preferably ID and e-learning developer folks. A beginner could jump right in and start creating a course. However, if you are an ID or e-learning developer person, this is not the product for you. Beginner i.e. newbie to advanced.

PowerPoint is presentation software. Yes, you can use it for many different things, and yes, Microsoft has an add-on that turns PPT into something similar to Adobe Presenter. Build a course or courses in just a few minutes – Personally, that is a scary concept. But, it does not pitch it as an authoring tool. .

Video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects are good options for professionals. Animoto, Nutshell, Machete, Avidemux, WeVideo, Magisto are some of the other applications for beginners. It works great if you would like to include messages from the CEO or a senior person.
