Elearning development tools: only Adobe? Over the last ten years or so, major elearning developers have preferred to use tools like Flash, Authorware and Director from Adobe (earlier Macromedia). Creating such a content player may be tough job using Silverlight (relative to Flash).

Macromedia Authorware and similar products. Macromedia Director. The Macromedia set typically would toss in Director, which created an equally impressive array of course capabilities, but a deep learning curve. Eventually, Macromedia Dreamweaver came into the picture. Does not output to any interoperability standard.
