I can honestly say, the ATD show is changing from ILT driven (it has always been that way) to e-learning improvement. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . E-Learning that is. The mobile app.

Best of all, whether you are utilizing AR in education (I see this as a massive win for all students) or at a business location, you are no longer stuck with courses, even sims that are either boring, lack constant engagement or as we all know, turn off folks who frankly do not like e-learning. Costs and quality will vary.

Schedule ILT courses – typically appears in the event mgt section. SCORM/AICC/PENS/IMS. In fact there are systems that cost less than 25K that are excellent. Learning is really becoming secondary, even if these vendors offer a LMS. . Self – registration. Curriculum management. Assessment/survey.

Trainers handed the task of building courses and incorporate the builds as an extension of ILT – i.e. linear. It isn’t, but there are a few vendors starting to add it to their interoperability standards and yes a few LMS vendors too. PENS was created in 2005 by AICC as a new interoperability standard.
