Users can choose to filter the database by key product features including category, deployment method, licensing options, and standards supported. All of the e-Learning specifications are captured- from SCORM and AICC to IMS, PENS and LETSI RTWS. Or they may opt to literally ‘map’ the industry with the browseable map feature.

What about AICC? Unless you purchased a tool that is only AICC compliant, which in that case, time to ditch it and get another one. If you purchased an AICC only, then you have to find a system that is AICC compliant. It can be SCORM too, but the AICC is the key. . What about PENS or some other compliance standard?

SCORM compliance and/or AICC – there are tools out there who support neither – but that is not the norm and there are a few tools out there who also support PENS. I love the ribbon style approach, the custom branding angle with your player, audio and video narration, SCORM/AICC – perfect for the masses.

There are three types of systems that slide under “learning platforms” The most common one supports PowerPoint, and videos and other content – and can track it, but they DO NOT support any version of SCORM, nor do they support AICC, PENS, Tin Can and so on. The twist? The same with authoring tools BTW. .

At least SCORM support – Plenty still support AICC. Only a few support PENS, which is a shame, because it really does some very cool things. Oh, and you have to purchase two licenses, since the gamification option is not only within the course, but also for the folks who build the courses. Output to HTML5. Assessment tool.

One sim tool I know costs 25K per license, but the majority of pure sim tools in the market cost way way below that. . 2004, AICC, PENS, TinCan) would be equally relevant. Hierarchy/Tree view – Focused on course elements, objects, etc. Albeit there are some tools that do not work with nor accept any compliance standards.
